The Sheath
The nib's sheath serves both practical and aesthetic purposes. It insulates the nib from its housing material and offers opportunities for visual customization through various colors. Functionally (to better fit specific pens) and for personalization, the sheath can also be shaped in numerous interesting ways. Polycarbonate will be the initial material, but testing will extend to others to assess their strength, minimum achievable wall thickness, and color options.
The Crystal Nib
Combining the clear ceramic with the sheath gives you a ceramic nib in a form factor that with fit most EMR styli on the market.
